ESP E-II ST-2 Quilted Maple Rosewood Fingerboard (Emerald Green) Electric Guitar

Like all ESP E-II instruments, the ST-2 is built in Japan by ESP luthiers. The creation of the ST-2 stems from the many players who, over the past 40+ years that ESP has been around, want a high-performance guitar based on traditional styling. The ST-2 comes to you with all of the modifications you would have had to make to get your old-school guitar in shape for today’s performance styles. It includes a light and comfortable basswood body with quilted maple top, paired to a fast thin U-shaped maple neck with 22-fret fingerboard. High-end components on the ST-2 include Gotoh locking tuners, a Schaller straplocks, and a Floyd Rose Original bridge. The sound of the ST-2 is powered by a pair of direct-mounted DiMarzio ST-2 Custom pickups, created specifically for this guitar, and a push-pull function on the tone control allows you to split the pickups for tonal flexibility. The ST-2 includes a high-quality hard-shell case, and is available in Tiger Eye finish with maple fingerboard, and Emerald Green and Reindeer Blue finishes with rosewood fingerboard.

BODY

The body has been crafted using the tonally balanced and lightweight basswood, which provides a robust and lengthy sustain. The striking emerald green finish illuminates the quilted maple top brilliantly, and straight from the off it is clear to see that this model means business. The smoothly contoured body shape allows it to fit comfortably in the hand for a natural playing feel.

NECK

Fitted to the body is a bolt-on maple neck, which is shaped to the thin U profile. Paired with the neck is a luxurious rosewood fingerboard, complete with 22 XJ frets. The fingerboard radius is shaped to a smooth 305mm, which is perfect for executing smooth string bends and lightning fast scale runs.

ELECTRONICS

The natural timbre of the tonewoods is translated with energy by Steve Blucher Designed DiMarzio Custom Wound pickups. Steve Blucher is the electronic wizard behind the original pickup design for Steve Vai's original "Jem" models, and it's safe to say he knows a thing or two about designing high quality pickups. The tonal versatility of these pups are backed with masses of power, giving you incredible control over your tone.

The clutter-free control system of the E-II ST-2 offers a master volume knob, a push-pull master tone knob, and a 3-way pickup selector switch. Retain the delightfully smooth humbucker tone, or use the push-pull coil tap to access a grittier single-coil output.

For unflappable tuning and unparalleled sustain, the Gotoh tuners are coupled with a Floyd Rose Original locking tremolo bridge, all finished in chrome. The bridge allows you to dive and wail like a pro, and maintains tuning accurately no matter how much you let rip. Finally, each model is supplied with a hard case to keep your pride and joy safe for a lifetime of use.
