You won't get laminated tops or sides on this wee-sized guitar -- this mini acoustic features a solid spruce top, solid mahogany sides and back, and a fingerboard and bridge made of select hardwood. It doesn't have a fancy pickguard or rosette detailing, but that's okay. The six-string acoustic guitar looks good the way it is, without any extra bells and whistles, and the overall shape of the instrument makes it interesting.

Like many other guitars by Martin, the Backpacker guitar boasts a surprisingly rich, loud tone, making it a good choice for solo practice, accompaniment with vocals, or any impromptu performance. An especially nice feature of the Backpacker is its full-size fretboard, which makes it easy to go from the little Backpacker to any other guitar without feeling awkward. When you're done playing, slip the Backpacker into its padded black nylon carrying bag (included) for safe keeping.
